Integrating Healthcare & Early Childhood Education
2:30 pm—3:30 pm
Austin Convention Center Speaker: Ryan Padrez, Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Stanford University’s Division of General Pediatrics, medical director at the Primary School, and faculty affiliate of the Stanford Accelerator for Learning
Healthcare and education are siloed, but collaboration between these systems is essential to addressing the complex needs of the most vulnerable children and families. We have designed a comprehensive school model that partners with a family’s medical home to incorporate medical home staff into multidisciplinary school teams. This model provides preventative care, developmental screenings, and care coordination while supporting the whole family’s well-being. We are focused on finding scalable partnership solutions that positively impact the health and well-being of communities.
Agenda for:

We’ll guide you through conceptualizing, outlining, and creating conversation flows for your own AI assistant. Explore methods that technical teams use to infuse warmth and adaptability into interactions and develop reliable chatbots. You’ll walk away with your own customized chatbot and the practical skills to create powerful, AI-driven learning experiences. Let’s build something together and talk about it!
Responsible AI: Balancing Innovation, Impact, & Ethics
11:30 am—12:30 pm
Austin Convention Center Speaker: Isabelle Hau, executive director of the Stanford Accelerator for Learning
AI’s rapid integration into the classroom is raising ethical concerns over bias, privacy, and digital divides. How can educators, technologists, and policymakers collaborate to ensure the promise of AI can be realized responsibly? We will discuss the questions policymakers and educators can ask of developers, the design principles developers can embrace to ensure transparency, objectivity, and accuracy of models and tools, and the role of educators in fostering AI literacy among students.
