Research Symposium | Human Connection for Learning in the Age of AI

This invitation-only research symposium will bring together leading scholars and practitioners to examine the role of human connection in learning and development in the age of AI.

Overview

As AI becomes increasingly embedded in how young people learn, communicate, and interact, this invite-only research symposium will ask a fundamental question: What human capacities and relationships become more important as machines become more capable?

Across disciplines, participants will synthesize emerging research, examine promising innovations in schools and learning environments, and consider what education should prioritize in an AI-rich world. The symposium will also explore the growing importance of human connection in an emerging relational economy, where the ability to build trust, collaborate, communicate, care, and work across differences may become increasingly consequential.

Together, we hope to shape a research and action agenda for human connection in the age of AI, from the science and measurement of relational capacities to the design of learning environments, technologies, institutions, and communities that strengthen human relationships at scale.
