Led by AI Tinkery Mentor Vryan Feliciano (EDS ’27), this workshop will explore the environmental impacts of AI. Participants will collaboratively sift through articles, legal documents, and interviews to weave together a narrative that outlines the scope of AI’s carbon footprint from beginning to end.
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to answer what the environmental impacts of AI are, how AI can increase emissions, and how AI can be used to reduce emissions. Participants will additionally learn to distinguish between personal and corporate environmental responsibility and identify actionable strategies for more conscious AI engagement. The workshop emphasizes human agency, collective reflection, and responsible innovation as pathways toward sustainable technology use.
